How to write 重👇

重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重重

Example sentence:

・1円玉 の 重さ は 全て 1グラム だ。
/ichi-en-dama no omo-sa wa sube-te ichi guramu da/

...The weight of 1-yen coins are all 1gram.

f:id:oyenkushi:20190107111045j:plain

First of all, 1円玉 is one of Japanese coins, ok?

This rule is for only 1-yen coin. 5-yen coins are not 5

grams.

Others are not, either.

If others were, 500-yen coin weights 500 grams!!

Japanese people would be buff.

But I think it's good as well...

Anyway if you teach that to your friends who like

Japan, they would be glad.

I have one more knowledge on 1-yen coins.

I've heard that it costs 3 yen to make 1-yen coin.

Sounds not good... XD

So I explain about the grammars used in the sentence!!

👉1円玉(ichi-en-dama)

円 is read "en" though it's "yen" in English, and it

means "circle"

玉 means "ball"

So 1円玉 means "1-yen coin"!! Ok?! That's good!

Wait wait, why?

Then I googled.

So Mr. Google said 玉 means also "round stuffs"

Still I don't understand well, but coins are round and

circle, so 1-yen coin is called "1円玉"

Don't think so deeply! XD

👉1円玉の重さは(ichi-en-dama no omo-sa wa)

重さ means "weight"
は means "is"

So 重さは means "weight is"

の means "of"

So 1円玉の重さは means "the weight of 1-yen coins are"

That's simple.

👉全て(sube-te)

This means "all"

👉1グラムだ(ichi guramu da)

The word グラム is made from "gram", it's written

with katakana.

And it's nearly read like "guram"

This だ can't be translated into English.

It's used to conclude sentences. So you don't

always have to put it.

So the sentence can be 1円玉の重さは全て1グラム.

If you say politely, you put です(desu) instead of だ.

That's all explanations.

Now you can translate the sentence!

1円玉の重さは全て1グラムだ, this means:

The weight of 1-yen coins are all 1 gram.

So that's all today.

Thank you so much for reading.

Ask me if you have any questions.

I hope this helps you.

See you next time~!
